- 3 mounds started with a base of 18 year old firewood, then branches & brush went on then leaves & compost then topped with 2 inches of good soil

We made 3 hugelkultur mounds which utilizes branches, brush, compost & soil for building, See text about it. They turned out very well & are supposed to hold moisture for many years. See summer squash on one and volunteer corn on another.
